The application based on a work, awarded in 2006 with the National Award for the Best Technical Book, aims, on the one hand, to initiate users into the study of the basic concepts of scientific methodology, and on the other, to offer a flexible guide for the preparation and execution of research projects. In this sense, the application is structured in two parts:Part I: includes seven chapters that constitute an introduction to the Research Methodology. These include essential contents such as: concept of knowledge, science and scientific method. As well as, general guidelines are presented on the Operationalization of variables, design of data collection instruments and basic sampling techniques.Part II: intends to provide a practical guide for the preparation of research projects, from its formulation to its execution or development. To this end, updated sections are included on the rules for the presentation of citations and references: printed, audiovisual and electronic, and a new chapter is also included referring to the stages involved in carrying out the projected research: validation and application of the instrument of data collection, analysis, interpretation and discussion of the results, and finally, elaboration of conclusions and recommendations. In short, this Application combines theoretical and practical elements of the scientific research process and is largely adjusted to current Research Methodology programs, thus meeting the needs of students of any level.
